DRAFT — Pre-launch. Items marked
[TO CONFIRM]must be resolved before public launch.
These terms govern participation in the Lingo Café Early Birds Programme. They apply in addition to our [Terms of Service] and [Privacy Policy], which continue to apply in full.
1. What the programme is
The Early Birds Programme gives early users free, unlimited access to the Lingo Café reader app during the product's alpha phase — as defined in our Terms of Service. In exchange, members contribute to the development of the product by engaging with feedback requests.
The programme is our way of building Lingo Café with the people who use it, not just for them.
2. Eligibility and enrolment
The programme is open to any registered Lingo Café user. Enrolment is voluntary and takes place during account onboarding by opting in via the designated checkbox.
Users who join through our re-permission email campaign are enrolled upon creating an account and confirming their participation.
There is no fee to join.
⚠️ OPEN ITEM: Confirm whether there is a cap on the number of Early Birds places.
3. What you get
As an Early Birds, you receive:
- Free, unlimited access to all titles available in the Lingo Café reader app for the duration of the programme
- Early access to new titles and features as they are released
- Direct influence over the direction of the product through your feedback
4. Your participation obligations
Membership is conditional on being active when we reach out for feedback. Feedback requests may take any of the following forms:
- Short online questionnaires (approximately every two weeks)
- Optional one-to-one user interviews
- In-app surveys or prompts
- NPS (Net Promoter Score) surveys
- Other lightweight feedback mechanisms
"Active" means engaging with feedback requests in good faith — completing a form, responding to a survey, or signalling availability for an interview. You are not required to complete every single request, and individual feedback methods (such as interviews) remain optional. What is expected is a general pattern of engagement over time.
Members who consistently do not respond to feedback requests over an extended period may be removed from the programme. We will notify you before taking this step.
5. Non-participation and removal
If we determine that a member is no longer actively participating, we will:
- Send a reminder to the email address on your account
- Allow a reasonable period for you to re-engage before taking any action
- Notify you if we proceed with removing you from the programme
Removal from the Early Birds Programme does not affect your Lingo Café account. Your account, reading progress, and preferences are retained. Your access level will revert to whatever is available to standard users at that time (see section 6).
6. When the programme ends
The Early Birds Programme will run for the duration of the app's active development phase. We will give members at least 30 days' notice before the programme closes.
When the programme ends, members will transition to one of the following:
- A paid subscription tier — details and pricing to be confirmed closer to launch
- A standard free tier — which currently offers limited access (for example, up to two chapters per week of a single title)
We will communicate the available options clearly before the transition date, and you will have time to choose before any change takes effect.
⚠️ OPEN ITEM: Confirm the exact free tier limits and whether an alpha-member discount or grace period will be offered at programme close.
7. Your feedback data
Responses you provide through feedback requests are used internally for product development and growth purposes — to improve the Lingo Café experience, inform decisions about new features and content, and understand how the product is being used.
Your responses are not sold, shared with third parties, or used for purposes unrelated to the development of Lingo Café.
Feedback data may be retained after your programme membership ends, in aggregated or anonymised form, for ongoing product analysis. Personally identifiable information from feedback responses is handled in accordance with our [Privacy Policy].
8. Opting out
You may leave the Early Birds Programme at any time from your Profile settings. Opting out does not close your Lingo Café account. Your access level will revert as described in section 6.
If you withdraw from the programme, we will stop sending you programme-related communications. This does not affect any separate marketing consent you may have given.
9. Changes to the programme
We may update the structure, benefits, or obligations of the programme as the product evolves. We will notify active members by email at least 30 days before any material changes take effect, giving you time to decide whether to continue participating.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swedish courts, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
